Windows 95, 98 and Me:
If you are having technical issues under Windows 95, 98 or Me, you can check the following..

  • To prevent failures close other applications before you burn a CD.
  • If DirectCD, Packet CD Writing, NERO or similar programs that detect blank CD-Recordable insertions are installed on your system, wait for these programs to initialize and close them before start burning.
  • Reboot your system before burning a CD (free RAM memory).
  • Burn CD's at a lower burning speed.
  • Optimize your PC by hard disk defragmentation, for a faster system.
  • Open 'Control Panel' and click on 'System'.
    Select 'Device Manager' tab.
    Click on the CD-Rom icon
    For every CD device in the list, do the following:
  • Select the Device.
    Select 'Settings'.
    Enable 'Disconnect'.
    Enable 'Sync Data Transfer'.
    Disable 'Auto Insert Notification'.
    Enable 'DMA' (if available).
    Click on 'OK'.

Reboot the system for settings to take effect.


Windows NT, 2000 and XP
:
If you are having technical issues under Windows NT, 2000 and XP, you can check the following..

  • Windows NT 4 must have Service Pack 6 installed.
  • You must currently have Administrative rights.
  • To prevent failures close other applications before you burn a CD.
  • If DirectCD, Packet CD Writing, NERO or similar programs that detect blank CD-Recordable insertions are installed on your system, wait for these programs to initialize and close them before start burning.
  • Reboot your system before burning a CD (free RAM memory).
  • Burn CD's at a lower burning speed.
  • Optimize your PC by hard disk defragmentation, for a faster system.
